A new build on a green field site in Hampshire, this unusual house was designed and built as part of the Greenleaf ‘design and build’ facility. The design takes its cue from the stunning views of the surrounding hills and is firmly of the ‘contextual’ school of architectural thought.
The house uses traditional materials but has a modern layout, and many of the materials have been sourced from Europe and further afield utilising the latest developments in thermal efficiency and incorporating very high levels of insulation. In line with Greenleaf’s eco-building credentials, the project has solar pv panels, a ground source heat pump, a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery, underfloor heating, and is super-sealed to prevent draughts. This makes it very economical to run.
In addition to the build, Greenleaf designed and built the landscaping and garden features to create a fully finished home fit for the 21st century.
